Our first......

...make and take Birthday party was a huge success.

I was asked by one of our lovely customers, Donna, if she could bring her daughter and 3 friends to our Saturday afternoon craft club to make something instead of taking them to the cinema, of course I said "Yes" and after a lengthy discussion our 'Make and Take' Birthday party's where born.

The girls were given the choice of 3 items to make,

* a 6" circle with a hanging heart onto which a monogram initial was added and embellished with flowers, pearls, buttons etc.
* a a peg rack for the long necklaces the girls are all wearing onto which we added their name and again it was embellished using the same sort of items
* a pen pot with a wooden primitive heart to one side and their initial to the reverse, the pot can be used for pens, make up brushes etc.

Two girls chose the pots and the other two chose the peg racks, all used pink to decorate them and a vast number of embellishments. The main thing was that they thoroughly enjoyed it and took away an item they had all made themselves. Unfortunately I don't have any photos to add yet as Donna needs to check with the other parents to see if they mind me using photo's of their daughters on the blog.



At the end of the afternoon Donna asked if she could bring them again just for a craft afternoon in the school holidays so another day booked for 'Make and Take'.

All in all a success I think!

How long has it been since

I posted on my blog? Too long and I am sorry but things and life have been hectic as usual.

I was really busy with my Niece's wedding, I had alot of orders for the wedding from different members of the family and most of them to kept as a secret and none of which I have photo's of, I must remember to take pictures of stuff as I make it. Even though it was a busy time I thoroughly enjoyed the wedding, it was a lovely day and nice to be able to relax a while. Thanks to Karen for looking after the shop for me.

So where are we up to now? The shop has been busy first with craft club which has now been extended to 3 sessions a week with a 4th session in the planning stages, then we had father's day with lots of special orders for that.

Then it was time to re-stock with Candy Bouquets, these are a few of the ones we have in stock at the minute

Then the birth of our new Granddaughter to prepare for, Katie Jayne was born on Thursday weighing a healthy 8lb 9oz, Mum and baby are doing fine and hopefully will be home today. Well with a new baby it was time to stock up on the baby section so Nappy Cakes were first on the list

The items on the Baby section sell out really fast so its a constant battle to keep the shelves stocked. The nappy cakes are really popular with our customers as are the personalised canvases we make

These are a couple I did remember to take photo's of although I have made some for orders which I have no pics of.

Well that's all for now folks, back to the grindstone with another busy day ahead as we are at a craft event on July 4th and stock is needed for that.

Father's Day ...

Maz had a busy week in the build up to Father's Day selling her handmade gifts for Dad's and lots of baby things too. the personalized items are very popular for the babies and for the younger members of the community.
Next week Maz is busy completing some orders and compiling our list of "C" word workshops. Yes I know we're still in June but it's got to be done. So watch out for some sneak peaks in the coming weeks.

The Stampin' Up demonstration on the 26th of June is now cancelled due to unforseen circumstances. Sorry stampers.

STAMPING UP Workshop

Good Morning All,

Just thought I'd pop in and let you know that we are holding a STAMPING UP workshop on Sat 26th June. There will be 2 sessions, 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.
The demonstrator is my fabulous friend Tracey Rossos. Take a look at her work on her blog. She's a very talented lady and I'm honoured to have her as a friend.

Look what I made ....

A clock for my living room from one of the shops kits. I've used the wallpaper from my feature wall to front the clock and just added green pearls in place of the numbers.

Keep popping in as there are more kits to come.

Some new bits we have been busy making

Well its been too long since we posted on here but I wanted to show you just a few of the things we have made and sold over the last few weeks

One of the things that have proved to be very popular is the Pet Plaques, these are personalised with the pets name and have hooks to hang their coat, collar and lead.

I found this item with instructions on Dream, Create and Share blog, Tammy was very kind to do a great video tutorial for these and so I thought I would have a go at making some, This one has been made using Brown paper and pages out of an old book, I then glued a pin to the back and it makes a lovely brooch.

Taking it one step further I made this and added a flower to the front, it was only in the shop a few hours before it was sold.A close up of the flower, the great thing is that all your flowers now match your paper perfectly and they can be any size you want them to be.

Another clock that I made was this one, I covered the clock face with paper from a pad I have had a while, I loved it when I bought it and have not been able to bring muself to use it until now, the paper is from Dejavue and is beautiful. This is for a Hallway as it features a Blackboard as well as hooks to hang your keys on. I have made a smaller version which is just the clock.

Karen has been busy with card orders which you can see some of on her own blog and we have all been very busy with craft club which now is run in 3 sessions to give everyone a place, the workshop list should be ready very soon so watch this space.

We have a number of craft fairs we shall be standing at during the summer the first is on May 9th at the Glenmore centre in Shepshed, more details to follw soon.

Wedding Season ...

is fast approaching and St georges day on Friday. So it's all systems go for frocks n frill and red, white and blue.

Just a couple of wedding cards made for an order. I'm pleased with both of them but I love the elegance of the initials one.

I'm currently working on a range og engagement, wedding and anniversary cards, so keep popping in here and the shop to see them.

I was hoping the good weather would continue and bring people in, but it's grey and grim this morning. Spring will get sprung weather wise at some point. It's always sunny in the shop with the lovely colours and Maz to chat to, so pop in and take a look.
