Our new babies!

Hi everyone, I have had such a hectic Summer I don't know where the time has gone. To say it has been a busy time is an understatement, we have moved house and I have become a temporary 'Mummy' to these adorable little things

Angel's puppies
6 beautiful Bichon Frise puppies who are now nearly 6 weeks old, 4 girls and 2 boys and all very lively.

We have found new homes for all but 1 of them and I am keeping 2 for myself, 2 girls which I have named Tilly and Daisy, I couldn't resist them.

Tilly, Daisy are both mine and Bertie is going to my Son

Bertie has found a new Mummy and daddy with my Son and DIL and Grandson Flynn

Jasper has a new Mummy and Daddy and a future playmate, a little boy called Archie

Only a few more weeks and they will be off to their new lives and a much quieter house we will have here.

It has been so long....

...since I last posted on here which just shows how busy my life has been recently.

I have been busy re-organising the shop to make space for a sewing workshop space, it still needs filling up but its getting there. In fact this was taken when it was first done and it has loads more stuff there now.

Then I have been busy putting together the workshop list for the shop, all the sewing workshop up until the end of November and the beginners sewing group have been sorted out and the kids craft club timetable completed. That took longer to do than I thought!

So what else has kept me busy? shop orders, face book orders and I have just made a start on the 3 quilts orders I have to do, 1 double and 2 cot quilts

Today I pieced the top of the double quilt

I love the colours of this one, the large Cerise piece has to have a name appliqued on to it.

and pieced one of the cot quilts

These fabrics are so pretty

I will make a start on the other cot quilt tomorrow then start the applique work on all 3 of them.

I have also been making a few new bags that I want to stock

Shoulder bag
Very Girly Bag

 Messenger bag

I think the messenger bags will be popular for the kids going back to school
I am also waiting for this to be delivered

Elna 6600 Quilters Dream 2
I am hoping it will be here in a few days and I cant wait!

Well I have loads more to tell you all but it will have to wait for another day as I have things to do before bedtime, sorry I have been away for so long, hopefully I will be a better blogger in future

I cant believe its been a month...

since I last posted on here, I just don't know how time slips away so quickly.

I have had some family stuff to deal with, my Father-in-law has recently passed away and there is still a lot going on surrounding that so my time has been a little diverted recently.

So whats been happening at Love, Heart, Home since I was last here?....... Lots

I have been very busy at the shop making stock, fulfilling orders, holding craft groups and classes and time just goes, in fact I cant believe just how busy I have been so much so that I have employed my first member of staff, so a huge welcome to Helenne.
Helenne will be working with me at the shop and will be a part of the re-fit I have planned to make a second classroom so we can accommodate the never ending demand for classes in sewing, scrap booking, card making, decoupage, altered art, re-vamping and small re-upholstery items and they are just the ones we are either holding now or planning for the next few months.

It will mean cutting down a little on shop space but the extra workspace will be great, I am hoping to get the work completed over the next few weeks so I can get the new classes underway, I have waiting lists for the sewing and quilting groups so I am eager to get the dates fixed for these.
So onwards and upwards we go, I couldn't have wished for a better first year of trading and we now have a great customer base with loads of returning customers. We are busy in the shop, we are taking more orders, we have waiting lists for workshops, so life couldn't get any better at the minute so a HUGE Thank You to Karen, Helenne and everyone who is a part of all of this.

All I need is more hours in a day and some time off to recharge my batteries but I think that will have to wait a while.

My finger really hurts, I have just spent 4 hours stitching the binding onto this quilt

Is there an easier way to do this bit? I cant use a thimble, trust me I try every time but end up putting it away within the first few inches, well anyway they are both finished now

Here is the first one again

and both together

So onto Katie's quiltt next which will be very girly.

Ottoman Before and After.....

Okay quick post just to show you the finished ottoman, my Daughter - in - laws Mum; Bev asked me to re-cover this box as she keeps her hair dryer and other stuff in it.

It actually looks worse than this photo shows, it is typical 1970's Gold Draylon!

So before...

The brief was to re-cover and not to re apply the studs to the top

The stripes were a pain to work with, hard to keep them straight but I am rather pleased with the finished result, what do you think?

A new project for today and Oscar!

Morning everyone, what a lovely day today, the sun is shining and the shop is busy, couldnt get any better today.

I have a new project to work on today as I have to re-cover this

Its quite a nice box if it wasnt for the gold Draylon but it will look very different later today.

I also have a new friend for you to meet

Here is Oscar...

He is for my Grandson Marshall, he is only 2 so hopefuly he will be a friend to him for many years.

Off to start the ottoman, hope to have more photos later

Donna who ordered them is really pleased with them which is good.

I have a lampshade to re-cover next for my Granddaughters bedroom then I have to upholster the airing cupboard door which is in her bedroom, quite looking forward to that.

Been a busy day here so off to get something else done

Catch you all later

To me from me.....

 Happy Mother's day!

I knew my kids would all buy me something for Mother's day although the only thing I insist on is that they buy me a card but they always say I am so hard to buy for, dont know why!

Recently I had a BIG (50) birthday and to make thing easier for them I wrote a list of 50 things I woiuld like to get for my birthday starting with rolls of double sided tape to large things like Cricut cartridges and I didnt get a single one of them.

On Saturday it was the sewing group and the project was fabric baskets so as I demonstrated them I made myself a couple for my new sewing room

Sewing group lesson - fabric baskets
I had recently bought some round bag handles as I wanted a knitting bag, nothing too fancy but better than the carrier bag I was using so I made myself this as well

Then to add a few more pretties to my sewing room I have now got this

with a rather pretty needle case to match

Along side all my own presents I got some rather nice things from the kids, 4 lots of beautiful flowers, the book of The Kings Speech and money to buy some lovely fabric so all in all I had a lovely Mother's day and I hope that all you other Mummy's did too

Should it stay or should it go?

There are times in my life when I have an idea for something and actually have all the things I need to complete the project and then when it has been completed I am torn between keeping it and selling it.

Well this is one of those projects, I cant decide if I want to keep it or sell it, what would you do?

I have to admit I am torn and am tempted to keep it for myself, its the first time I have tried this technique and I love it so maybe the Bird House will see some of those gorgeous tissues after all and I have a little cupboard and a trinket box and lots of other things, my mind is in overdrive now thing of all the beautiful things I could make using this technique.

Oh well off to finish off some shop orders and get ready for tonight craft club
Catch you all later

Now Quilts....

I have been busy with shop orders, facebook orders and loads of sewing orders and that's not counting Mother's day stock,  don't get me wrong I am not complaining but I could do with a few more hours in a day and/or a couple of extra days in the week.

My latest project is an order to make 2 quilts for two little boys, Pheonix and Finlay, their Mum Donna has seen the first one finished so now I can show all of you, here are the selection of the fabrics that I am using to make them.

Pheonix's Quilt fabric

Finlays Quilt fabrics
and here is Peonix's finished quilt

Not the best photo but the best I could take today, so 1 down and 1 to go

Back to shop orders tomorrow but I am hoping to get the second quilt cut out tomorrow night, off to do a bit more knitting now, more Rabbits on the way, the next one is for my Grandson Marshall.

See you later!
